We're looking for a Lead Engineer to join one of our product tribes in our Lisbon office and work on user-facing products, which are at the core of Pipedrive and used by our customers to improve their business results. You'll work on Deals, our best-known product, the LeadBooster lead generation tools and brand new initiatives such as Campaigns, Projects, Account Management, Payments and Support products. Our teams span four of our engineering offices in Europe, and your work will directly impact our more than 100,000 customers.

The lead engineer position is unique in how it combines technical and leadership aspects of the job. Lead engineers contribute to engineering projects (such as missions) both directly and by leading them. They bring the most value by enabling engineers around them to be more effective and actively help them grow. Lead engineers are seasoned developers with technical knowledge on par with senior developers.

Our tech stack:
Frontend: React.js, TypeScript and GraphQL with Relay.
Backend: Node.js, TypeScript and Fastify. Some PHP and Golang.
Storage and messaging: MySQL, Kafka, ElasticSearch, Redis and CouchDB.
Infrastructure: AWS, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes and Jenkins.


Your new adventure:

  • Write code and perform other activities related to software engineering
  • Lead tribe-wide projects (such as missions or other non-technical initiatives)
  • Lead significantly important cross-tribe missions
  • Influence everyone in the tribe to achieve broader company goals as well as tribe goals
  • Foster Pipedrive’s values and culture within the tribe
  • Mentor other engineers and provide quality feedback

Does this sound like you?

  • Passion for software development, software architecture and collaborative work
  • Proven record of leading software projects and teams
  • Can write and maintain high-quality and well-tested code
  • Able to conduct technical research and create quick proof of concepts for validation if needed
  • Experience with some of the following technologies: Node.js, TypeScript, Go, any SQL database, Docker, Apache Kafka, ElasticSearch, Redis and PHP
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures and data-heavy applications
  • Can work in a highly collaborative environment with a team distributed across multiple engineering offices
  • Peer-oriented mindset and willingness to share knowledge to inspire team growth and success
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills
